Special Orders at McDonald’s
Today is the last day I’ll have a chance to go to McDonald’s to make this “special” order. I know I’ve been putting it off, even though I was a little excited about looking crazy. So during my lunch break, I went to the nearest McDonald’s to my bank, and just to let you know, I work for Chase, so I wear a shirt with a big Chase logo on it. To make crazier, I went there with my Chase shirt on, so in case they think I’m weird, I can just say that it’s for my manager. I was a little psyched while I was waiting on line, wondering what kind of reaction I would get. So it was finally my turn, and I told the girl that I have a special order for her, and started explaining what I need. After I told her the order, and specified that I wanted that on a receipt, she didn’t have any reaction at all. She looked as if I was just ordering a number 1. Then she walked to the other end of counter to get my receipt, and handed it to me. While I was waiting for the food, I was look over the receipt and it came out wrong! For the cheeseburger, it only says 1 extra pickle, instead of 4 pickles, so I asked her to put 4 pickles on the receipt she said no, and that a cheeseburger comes with 3 pickles and adding an extra pickle makes it 4. So I thought “alright, I can live with that.” Then I started complaining about the fries. It didn’t say well done on it, but it did say no salt, so I told her to put the words “well done” on the receipt, that’s when she thought was crazy. She said “Are you serious??!” and I said “Yea!” Then she started talking to another girl in Spanish, and I’m assuming that she’s her supervisor. I had no idea what they were saying, God knows if they were calling me stupid, but all I saw was the supervisor giving her weird looks and shaking her head. By the way, nobody had name tags on, so I had no idea who’s who, and in what position. After a few minutes of saying no, the supervisor walked away, and a person that looked like the manager came and asked what’s wrong. The girl explained the situation to her and automatically she said that “we don’t do that.” So I argued a few more minutes, and she still said no, so I finally said “Fine, can you just write well done on it and initial it?” The manager looked at me like I was crazy, but she wrote it down anyway. After I got back to my branch, I inspected the food to see if they got it correctly. The cheeseburger was perfect with exactly 4 pickles. But the fries were not right at all. My co-work went to McDonald’s with me, and also got fries as well, and her fries look more golden than mine, and she didn’t even ask for well done. My fries were pretty pale, and had a little bit of salt crystals on it. Even though it tasted pretty salt-less, I would still consider it to be regular fries with salt. In my opinion, this McDonald’s didn’t try hard enough, and if I had more time I would just go to the bigger one right on 42nd street.
